The new Art of Flight Festival takes place in Benalla, Victoria, from 6–12 April 2026 — a week where skill, spectacle and the beauty of flight take centre stage.

Set against the stunning landscapes of north-east Victoria, the Festival will see more than 25 elite hot air balloon teams from Australia and overseas take to the skies each morning in the International Balloon Championships, delivering breathtaking dawn flights and world-class competition.

As the sun sets on Saturday 11th, the Festival comes alive with the ‘Light Up the Night’ spectacular evening Balloon Glow featuring illuminated balloons, local food and wine, and live entertainment, creating an unforgettable experience for all ages.

Tickets to ‘Fly with the Fleet’ as a balloon passenger during the event are now available.

The Festival culminates on Sunday 12th with a thrilling Fly In at Benalla Airport, where pilots put their precision flying skills to the test, alongside aviation displays and flights at the Benalla Aviation Museum and the Gliding Club of Victoria, celebrating the region’s rich aviation heritage.

In 2026, the Festival proudly incorporates the Australian National Hot Air Balloon Championships, sanctioned by the Australian Ballooning Federation. Results from Benalla will help determine which Australian teams qualify to represent the nation at the 2026 World Championships in Krosno, Poland
